“Jazz” by Matisse, Published in September 1947 but begun in 1943, the album Jazz constitutes a key work in the evolution of Matisse's work: it is the laboratory that allows him to move from painting to practice of paper cutting, a technique developed in the last decade of his life. And the pages left empty and white will be covered by Matisse with notes taken during his life as an artist. This edition is an original lithograph after Henri Matisse on vellum paper printed by the Draeger workshop, it is a limited edition of 250 copies authorized by the Henri Matisse estate.
